Chris Stockon - Managing Director

After completing a project management degree at Leeds Metropolitan University, Chris Stockton embarked on a career as a Project Manager in Construction with Wiltshire Kier in Central London. After two years and seeing the marketplace considerably tighten in the early 1990’s recession, Chris returned to Cheshire to set up in business for himself.

After two years and seeing the marketplace considerably tighten in the early 1990’s recession, Chris returned to Cheshire to set up in business for himself.

First established in 1994 by current Managing Director, Chris Stockton, Ningbo Palletised Distribution initially began operating in the marquee hire industry and the distribution sector, transporting its furniture products for hire and sale. The original Ltd Company, 4 Seasons Beer Tent Co Ltd remains as the legal entity with Ningbo as the registered trademark.

Chris comments, “Reputation, supplier confidence, longevity and credit rating, are very important factors to any business, and I have always traded through the same Ltd Company from the outset for nearly 22 years now.” The furniture is sourced and manufactured in eight factories in China.
All of whom have traded with Ningbo for years. Chris Stockton is actively involved with this aspect of his business and makes annual trips to his office in China, in the Ningbo district, this is where the name Ningbo originated. Chris visits the factories twice a year to maintain the quality of the products and maintain good personal links with the owners of the factories, several of which employ 350 employees each. Chris has travelled the whole of China to source and set up supply agreements for 20 years.
